What we keep, who sees it, and how to remove it.
Last updated October 9, 2026. A draft written in plain English; it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
1. What we collect
- Your email address, to send the sign-in letter. There is no password.
- Your profile: name, handle, one-line headline, city and region, industries, experience, employer, what you are here for, and an about section.
- Your parish, which every profile must name.
- Your résumé, if you upload one.
- Your listings, referrals and review requests, with the dates they happened.
We do not collect your exact address, your date of birth, your ethnicity, or anything from your contacts or other apps.
2. Who sees what
- Anyone, signed in or not: your name, handle, headline, city and region, industries, and what you are here for. Only once your profile is complete.
- Members with complete profiles: the rest of your profile, except your parish and your résumé.
- Your parish: you alone, unless you choose to show it to members. It is never shown to visitors who are not signed in, and the directory never searches by it.
- Your résumé: you; a member who is hiring or can refer, while you are marked as seeking work; a member you have asked for a referral, while that referral is open or referred; a mentor who has taken your review request. No one else.
- A referral: you and the other member in it. The person who posted the listing sees it only once you have been referred.
These rules are enforced by the database itself, not only by the pages you see.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not grade or rank members.
4. Cookies
One kind: the cookie that keeps you signed in. No tracking or advertising cookies.
5. Who stores it for us
- Supabase holds the database, sign-in and résumé files.
- Vercel runs the website.
- Resend sends the sign-in letter, once it is switched on.
Each processes your information only to provide its service to us. Data is stored in the United States.
6. Keeping and deleting
We keep your information while your account exists. To delete your account and everything in it, use Delete my account on your own page; it takes effect at once. To see what we hold about you or correct it, write to support@orthodoxreferrals.com. Deleting your account removes your profile, parish, résumé and referrals; a listing you posted is removed with it.
7. Children
The site is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly keep information about anyone younger, and delete it if we learn of it.
8. Changes
This policy may change as the site grows. The date at the top says when it last did; a significant change is announced on the site before it applies.
